A Film to Die for:

While the alarm genre has long been home to the musings of the demented, Dawn of the Dumb takes depression and loneliness to a whole original level creating a film that, simply save, is to die for. The aura is suitably, almost entrancingly, morbid as the film delves into not only the gory rampages of the newly turned, but on the all too exact emotions experienced by the few survivors as they struggle to remain alive and, even harder, sane. While Dawn of the Unimaginative is by no means a deep film, it does have that determined something, that inexplicable magic, that makes the viewer care. Yes, indeed, this is one those films that you will utilize yelling at the cover, warning the unwitting characters to turn around, or not go down that creepy corridor, or even better, not to sail come those that have unbiased died, indulging in long moments of pain without remembering unprejudiced what happens to the corpses of the infected victims. Yes, the characters lack that obvious brain power, but, unlike most zombie flicks, it’s believable. They reside in a world that rotates around death, not life. A world that overnight turned into a carnal house stacked with the bodies of those they once loved so it is acceptable, even believable, that the characters would have pains grasping the ramifications of some of their actions, including their “brave” thought in the conclusion.

Of course, the best narrative in the world is only as honorable as its telling. How many times have we, the exalted viewers of America, been presented with an keen movie belief that despite the ingenuity has failed on every level (Aeon Flux comes to mind) . And, conversely, how many times have we been presented with a simple, unadorned fable that for some reason spellbinds the entire audience (consider of Paper Moon.) Dawn of the Stupid most certainly falls into the later category. Like most George Romero films (with the exception of that travesty Land of the Lifeless) the acting is radiant and emotional, the special effects are surprisingly (and sometimes upsettingly) realistic, and the entire aura of the movie from beginning to destroy is immoral yet somehow, strangely provocative. Dawn of the Dumb creates a ghastly world, yet the viewer will want to visit it again and again.

As the movie gains force, the conclusion rushes forward and although, as briefly mentioned above, the characters’ valorous arrangement does exhibit the viewer with major qualms, it is believable and even grand. Unlike those “cliff hanger” movies that misconstrue intrigue with irritation and determine to demolish with no revelation or meaning Dawn of the Insensible ends dramatically, poignantly, and memorably satisfying the viewer and rounding out the entire movie nicely, leaving no room for complaints or questions. Also, one word of advice, be certain and perceive the ending credits because an well-known event is actually portrayed as the credits role. This is share of the conclusion and is highly well-known.

Extra Information and a Effect to Potential Viewers:

The version of Dawn of the Lifeless that I viewed was the unrated director’s gash (which I highly recommend) . The film was originally rated R in theaters. Since this movie contains vulgar gore, violence, terrible language, and brief scenes of nudity, viewer discretion is advised (and yes, I got that from TV) . For those who are keen in the actors/actresses these are some of the names of the outstanding cast: Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames, Jake Weber, and Mekhi Phifer. Also, Dawn of the Tiresome boasts an satisfactory soundtrack especially the concluding song, so don’t miss it!

- Ravenova

Let me start by saying that I am a tremendous fan of the Romero trilogy, and own that those movies are irreplaceable. Every fan of the apprehension genre should believe those films. However, this does not mean that I was not able peek this remake without an begin mind. In fact, I loved this movie. Rather than try to completely re-do the Romero film, and in so doing step on Romero’s toes, the filmmakers went for a different bolt on Romero’s basic belief.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dawn of the Dead! Click Here

For those of you who are familiar with the modern Romero version of Dawn of the Expressionless, you know that Romero was not going for the full-fledged anxiety movie accomplish. Certain, the movie had some jumps and some gore, but for the most allotment Romero’s film was a satire. Romero did a tremendous job of combining social commentary with some alarm elements, which is, in itself, a statement. This remake, however, merely goes for the thrills and chills.

The 2004 version of Dawn of the Plain throws you immediately into the horror/gore, and honest from the onset of the opening credits you know that this film is no satirical statement. Sarah Polley plays a nurse who wakes up one morning to rep herself in the middle of a nightmare…only, it’s not merely a nightmare but a waking reality. Her neighbors and husband have been turned into walking (running) corpses (more similar to those in 28 Days Later than Romero’s slow-moving, rigor mortis ridden zombies) and she must stare rush before thinking twice. She meets up with a few other lucky survivors, and they all secure shelter in a shopping mall (aptly named “Crossroads Mall”) . This favorable haven seems almost too trustworthy to be moral with all the supplies they need to last until more assist arrives, and it is. When the “gracious haven” in which the survivors are staying is compromised, they must devise a understanding and again speed the horrors of the bloodthirsty walking insensible.

Overall, I believe this was a substantial film that all fans of apprehension should be able to savor. The acting was sterling, the effects were stout, and the area was cohesive. Though the movie maintained some of the elements from the novel Dawn of the Uninteresting (the shopping mall setting, some cheesy mall music playing in the background, some lines of script that served to epitomize the blase routines many people continue to follow throughout their blase consumer-driven lives), for the most section this was an entirely different film. I really liked the fact that the filmmakers chose not to lop and paste Romero’s script, but rather produce a original film based on his expansive belief. I reflect that anyone who enjoys jumping in their seats at the theater, and intense apprehension films in general, will care for this movie. I, for one, will anxiously await the DVD release!

On one of the episodes, there is this squirrel and a very catchy song that goes ” Shipshape Flying Squirrel…” my son goes NUTS when he hears it. The DVD is very interactive and teaches a lot of basic things for toddlers. If you want your kid to be bilingual or to at least inaugurate learning spanish, I strongly recommend Dora and Diego DVDs. Nevertheless these episodes are action packed and a fitting ending for one of the most loved anime of all times. This situation contains the Fusion and Kid Buu sagas in these final 38 uncut episodes:

These episodes are all for the most fraction fascinating and a lot of them are fan favorites. The stakes really procure raised as everyone on the planet is attach in immediate jeopardy soon after followed by the possible destruction of the planet earth itself. The final Kid Buu episodes are sizable and glean the entire existence of life in the universe being threatened ratcheting everything up to it’s highest possible levels. The final episodes should be truly sparkling for fans to rewatch or experience for their first time.

I’ve said before that I luxuriate in how these sets were made with an overall theme across the nine that line up well and stare obedient together on a shelf. A well made booklet comes in each of these sets containing brief character bios and episode descriptions. The video is always well restored and in favorable condition, presented as Widescreen 16:9 Aspect Ratio. The audio is spacious with three different options:

American English Screech Track with American Music

American Scream Track with the Novel Japanese Music

Original Japanese Scream Track with the Novel Japanese Music.

The only extras on these sets have been trailer’s for other Funimation productions and textless opening theme and ending credits.

These episodes are not honest the final saga to the Dragon Ball Z series but also to the Dragon Ball series that began it all. The storylines here aren’t fair chubby of the science fiction and hard hitting fights Dragon Ball Z was known for but also the elements of magic, fantasy and off beat humor that Dragon Ball was known for. Looking at these episodes now, they are the perfect ending to such an spirited series that artfully managed to constantly escalate things through a seemingly natural course of events. After these episodes it seems hard to imagine more memoir storylines for these particular character’s than what we’re given here.

This final location is burly with equal amounts of the fighting fans query as well as the elements of humor and fantasy that develop this series so loved, fusing the two perfectly. Akira Toriyama ended his long running chronicle fittingly and satisfactorily for fans with these sagas all ending with a final nod towards the Goku we were introduced to diagram benefit at the open of Dragon Ball, a Goku that looks at everything as a challenge and adventure.

I can’t wait until this area is released in May, thanks for your time.

Dragon Ball Z’s Final Chapters!

The Z fighters Battle, To Hold The Formidable Majin Buu Down In This Finale Of The Buu Saga. IT’S INDEED THE BEST Action Pack Season Residence, Which Ends The Series OF DRAGON BALL Z!

Finally Funimations choose to be nice to us by releasing another Season State and including all the remaining episodes of DBZ.

I unruffled remember A couple years abet, when I spent almost $50 dollars unprejudiced for the 5 DVD Residence that only included the Kid Buu saga, Not only were the Old-fashioned DVD’s expensive and almost impossible to score, there were also a total situation waster. Season nine state is A must have! Not only is it cheaper, It’s a non-stop fierce action prove, that never stops to select it up to the next level, not even to the every Waste. (It also helps that the size of the Residence doesn’t assume up a lot of room like the Pervious 1999-2003 Sets.)

So, finally having the Droll Guys at FUNImations releasing very easy to derive Season Sets at $30 mark range, acquire me want to slap my self for even attempting to accept over 80 DVD’s of DBZ.

I really wish they would of released these Season Sets a long time ago and The arrangement they acquire there sweet A$$ time to re-release this Series makes me wonder if there going to Re-re-release them again on (blu-ray) or try to release them like they did in Japan, with the Dragon Box which included all 291 Episodes in Two Great Box Sets and also included a mountainous amount of DVD EXTRAS!!! Hmm…. Funimations! the ball’s in your court!

Shoshone Sisters

“American Outrage” is fragment of First Race Films Human Rights Look and it tells the chronicle of Carrie and Mary Dann, two Shoshone Indian sisters who fight heroically for their land rights. Thru are forced to endure scandalous roundups by armed federal marshals and derive that their cattle and horses are confiscated simply because they graze on the public land outside of the boundaries of their ranch. The very land upon which the grazing takes station is share of 60 million acres that is recognized by the United States government as Shoshone land. The government sued the sisters for trespassing and the boom then went to both the Supreme Court and the United Nations.

The sisters claim that the government is enthusiastic in the resources beneath the earth and that is why the case is so famous to the United States. We behold the courage of the Dann sisters and this is an necessary document for anyone who wants to understand why American Natives are so resistant to American colonialism in Indian Territory.

The cinematography is breathtaking and the anecdote is beautifully presented. The Dann sisters are two of the most unforgettable characters that you will ever near upon and this documentary is considerable in seeing how tribal lands have been taken by the American government under the guise of legality. Here is a great testament to the self-determination of the Shoshone nation and particularly of two women. The Danns tell our respect.

This work, narrated by Gene Kelley, is devoted to the cinema musicals, starting with seldom seen footage of the peaceful era, and continuing with the incredible dancing scenes of Busby Berkley. Next we proceed on to the Fred Astaire period, which centers attention on the individual dancer. We witness shapely performances from the likes of Ginger Rogers, Ruby Keeler as well as the incomparable Nicholas Brothers. With the advent of color, comes a never previously seen number on the ‘yellow brick road’ with Judy Garland and Ray Bolger. Not to forget a marvellous routine by Shirley Temple and Bojangles Robinson! Alltogether, this is the most memorable series of dance sequences that I have ever seen in half a century.

This film is a must-see for any dancer. The clips broken-down to showcase different types of dancing in film are creatively woven together and the commentary is very informative. Many notorious scenes from the broken-down MGM musicals to the water spray scene in Flashdance are old-fashioned to illustrate how diversified dancing in films can be. For ballet dancers, there is a part devoted solely to ballet in films which is hosted by Mikhail Baryshnikov. Scenes of Rudolph Nureyev leaping through the air compliment this fraction as well as scenes from various ballets. Liza Minelli hosts the Broadway inspirational part which is shorter in length. I only saw this film once but I feel that it is a must-own selection for any dancer.

Average customer review:

Cats – The Musical is available for streaming or downloading.

Click Here to Stream or Download Cats – The Musical

The `Cats’ DVD is a cinematic represent of the Andrew Lloyd Webber stage musical as performed on the London stage in, I occupy, 1998 starring Elaine Paige in the `lead’ role of Grizabella, although the only aspect of her role which warrants calling it the starring role is the fact that this character sings the `show-stopper’ song, `Memory’ which, if you are to hold writer / director Kevin Smith’s bit in `Jersey Girl’, has become a exact Broadway cliché. The note is the most truly `ensemble’ performance I can judge of. Few characters stand out for more than the length of a single part, yet practically all characters are on stage for over 50% of the two-hour performance. Aside from Paige, the only character / actor who is remotely familiar to me is John Mills who is on for but two scenes and who is more of a prop than a character.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Cats – The Musical! Click Here

I build a strong point of the fact that this is a recording of a stage performance rather than a conversion of the play to a more realistic environment. This conversion is done for most Broadway plays turned into movies, especially for huge musicals such as `Oklahoma’, `The Sound of Music’, `My Gorgeous Lady’, and `Chicago’. But this conversion is not always successful. That is, the very ample realistic setting is not always an enhancement. My best evidence for this is the film done of `The Fantasticks’ with a cast including such high powered talent as Joel Gray and others. As someone how has seen the play done on the live stage three times with three different interpretations, including a performance by the Fresh York City cast, I can say that the movie failed to breath any life into the classic minimalist staging it gets in intimate shrimp theaters. The movie was simply not as friendly as the live performance. This is clearly not the case with this DVD recount. It gives us the stage fantasy that needs practically no embellishment with a genuine ally or cinematic whiz-bang.

Like `The Fantasticks’, I have seen `Cats’ on the Current York stage sitting in a mezzanine seat about 4 rows from the support of the Winter Garden theatre. And, while there is something about a live performance that simply cannot be recorded, I will say that this DVD (and VCR) recording is quite as noble a represent as you can net.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Cats – The Musical! Click Here

My most notable criteria for evaluating a movie on DVD or VCR is whether or not the work wears well after the second or third or fourth viewing. For example, `Chicago’ was fun to inspect once, but I have no burning desire to perceive it again. On the other hand, `Singin’ in the Rain’ I can behold about once a year and unexcited accumulate the time well spent. I will say with colossal conviction that I can see this recording of `Cats’ once a year and indulge in every puny consume with the experience, because I have done so over the last few years. The performance and its relate are so durable that my second most valuable criteria for a DVD, a great commentary track, becomes unnecessary. And, the commentary track is basically a demolish of time for a musical anyway, especially a musical based on eminent poems written 65 years ago by the most distinguished poet, T. S. Eliot in `Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’.

The play has the thinnest of plots based on a once a year selection of one Jellicle cat to ascend into some location of grace, presumably at the conclusion of their legendary nine (9) lives. The only other state twist involves the kidnapping of the head cat, Aged Deuteronomy, thereby preventing this feline apotheosis from being carried out.

This accounts for four or five out of the nineteen numbers. All the rest are based directly on fourteen out of the fifteen poems in Eliot’s itsy-bitsy book.

One may deem that this work has but a single hit song and, therefore, the remaining musical numbers are second rate. This is certainly not the case. I get myself tapping my toe to all numbers, with especial pleasure coming from `Jellicle Cats’, `Mungojerrie and Rumpleteaser’, and `The Pekes and the Pollicles’. These are powerful more like stories in song than a simple ballad with easily remembered refrain.

Very highly recommended for anyone with a taste for musicals and worth a try for anyone who likes fantasy.

I am 77 years dilapidated.

I honest received my “Cats (Ultimate Edition) ” DVD and it is the very best version of “Cats” I have ever seen.

“The Sad Donnellys” follows the sage of four young Donnelly brothers — Catholic Irish-American siblings in Unusual York’s spoiled Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. The memoir is told by an unreliable narrator and Donnelly childhood friend named Joey ‘Ice Cream’ while being incarcerated. The series debuted on NBC on February 26, 2007 and took the status of the apprehensive “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” on Monday nights. The series’ initial half hour did well (10 million) but viewership fell off significantly in the second half hour (6 million) . It never got any better.

NBC aired seven episodes but, with most of the rest of the network’s schedule performing poorly, they had to fall it. They streamed the rest of the series online.

Although anime is beginning to change people’s minds, far too many Westerners mild mediate of animation as a genre only fit for children. The Last Unicorn ought to be high on the viewing list of anyone who believes animation is objective for kids–yes, it’s a “cartoon,” but it’s also beautifully moving, with current and unforgettable characters, and the storyline is as just to the current source material (book by Peter S. Beagle) as any movie adaptation I’ve ever seen.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Last Unicorn! Click Here

In her unchanging, always-spring forest lives a unicorn (whine of Mia Farrow), ageless, wise and innocent, and without regret–unicorns can feel sorrow, but it’s not the same thing. One day, when men arrive into her forest to hunt, she discovers that she is the last of the unicorns. With snatches of aid and hints from a dizzy butterfly, she sets out to net the others. On her intention she picks up an incompetent magician named Schmendrick (explain of Alan Arkin), a withered woman named Molly Grue (protest of Tammy Grimes), and eventually finds the kingdom of King Haggard (hiss of Christopher Lee) and his son Lir (stammer of Jeff Bridges) . But in the changing, aging world of humans, can the unicorn even withhold track of who she is and how the account should demolish?

The movie version isn’t perfect. There are some awkward scenes, including a bad duet by Mia Farrow and Jeff Bridges which never should have been included, and some scenes absorb material such as calm profanity, bare breasts and depictions of death which might not be capable for children. But there is an earnestness to this film, a magic in the scheme ideas are expressed, that’s all too rare in unusual filmmaking. This quality helps many viewers overlook the film’s flaws.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Last Unicorn! Click Here

So if The Last Unicorn is that respectable of a movie, why does it only rate two stars? Because the fresh U.S. DVD release is poor. This is a full-frame release, ***not widescreen***. The DVD has abominable hide art and offers zero special features. The accurate transfer is grainy and blurry in spots, with no evidence of any kind of restoration work. The soundtrack has a distinctly tinny quality. In fact, the only reason one would select this DVD was if one had only a single copy of the film taped off television some 15 years ago and watched over and over until the VHS tape nearly wore out… rather like me, in fact.

Don’t hold this DVD. I wouldn’t have done so if I had known what I know now. Instead, contact the distributors and inquire of a fully-restored widescreen release in North America.

Let me open by saying that The Last Unicorn is my accepted movie of all time. I have loved it since I was very, very young. However, I truly wish I had never bought this DVD.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Last Unicorn! Click Here

First off, the movie is chubby hide and not widescreen–this could easily be forgiven if the DVD didn’t have numerous other problems. The recount quality is abominable and looks as though they ripped the movie from the old-fashioned VHS master. There are also some scenes where the inequity seems to be up too high. I know that these are not simply issues with the unusual movie because I have the German release and its narrate is flawless (not to mention widescreen) and dazzling. This release also has one of the worst menus I have ever seen. The DVD says it has special features, but I can’t bag them!

If you’re a hardcore Last Unicorn fan, don’t lift this DVD. Your outmoded VHS version is impartial as advantageous.

I feeble it at the destroy of my “Gilded Age” unit with my high school students, as a review for a unit test, and we found it very great. The scenes portrayed on film in this particular episode are not entirely legal with the subject matter that is being discussed by the narrator. However, it did not distract from making it a viable review tool.

If you were a child or teenager of the 80s like me, this is the collection for you! I loved it! It was like going down memory lane! I highly recomend movie boxed sets like these for a rainy day or for a movie watching party or slumber party etc. So curl up on the couch with some popcorn and acquire ready to laugh and remonis!

First of all this area is a seize when one dvd costs $20.00 it does not recall a genius to know your getting three movies for the impress of one.

I savor all the movies in this residence how could any John Hughes fan not cherish them.

What memories these movies bring attend and I esteem “getting the cast together” on the Ferris Buller dvd. It was large to scrutinize the cast after all this time only Mia Sara and Charlie Sheen were not in the original interviews.
